ALLEGANY STATE PARK HISTORICAL SOCIETY
Welcome to the Allegany State Park Historical Society Web Page!
The Allegany State Park Historical Society is made up of a group of individuals that share a love for the park, have an interest in preservation issues that concern the park and are interested in historical information regarding it. Our meetings are the 3rd Saturday of every month at 1:00 p.m. The October through May meetings are held in the lobby of the Red House Administration Building. The June through September meetings are held at the St. John's Chapel in the Woods across from the Quaker Museum. Meetings are open to the public and we welcome new members. |
Wanted!
We are always in need of Allegany stories, pictures, essays and anecdotes for our "Allegany State Park Historical Society Newsletter". You too can be a published author. Your story does not have to be polished. All the better if it is, but what we want are your memories of life in the park. Funny is good. So are dramatic, quaint, exciting, dull, fun or sad. Tell us about getting lost or about finding a salamander or a bear or fungus. Tells us about falling in love, learning to swim, getting poison ivy or sun burnt or building a road. Your remembrances will strike chords in hundreds of others. We can't promise to publish everything you send, but we will try our hardest for dear old Allegany. Newsletters will be released 3 times a year, April, Aug, and Dec.
